There is one pick tonight in Game 1 of the World Series. It is a play on the Total.
Over 7.5 Total Runs in Tampa Bay Rays vs. LA Dodgers for 3% of the bankroll.
(Glasnow and Kershaw must start for wager to have action.)
We are not surprised to see a 7.5 run total in Game 1 of the World Series with both Glasnow and Kershaw taking the mound tonight, in fact, this total was almost expected. The issue that we have is that both pitchers actually provide a fairly favorable matchup for the opposing teams' bats. There is no question that Kershaw is (arguably) one of the most dominant pitchers in the league, however, his history of postseason struggles is well documented. Will he have a superior game tonight and pitch a gem? Possibly, however, history has not been on his side on the biggest of stages. The Rays have also been one of the more aggressive teams at the plate and will undoubtedly go after Kershaw tonight and not simply stand back and allow him to pitch around them. We expect them to get a couple of runs off him tonight.
Glasnow has also had an impressive season this year, however, he has had an issue with serving up home runs, especially this postseason. He's only allowed 17 hits in 19 1/3 innings in the postseason, but 6 of those hits left the yard! The fact that the Dodgers just came off a series where they hit 16 home runs over their last 7 games shows that they can capitalize on some of Glasnow's miscues if he continues to make mistakes tonight.
We believe both lineups should have success tonight and both starting pitchers will struggle a bit. We wouldn't be surprised to see this game end as a 4-3 final, however, we feel the odds favor both offenses more in this contest than expecting a defensive pitchers duel. The value in this game is on the Over.
