SPS has released two college football picks for Friday's NCAAF Matchups!

#1: Tulane +7 spread (buy the half point) against SMU for 3% of the bankroll.

Deciding Factors:

-SMU lost (2) of their top offensive play makers (Top RB & WR) in their win over Memphis.

-This is a bit of a "trap" game for SMU, having just played a ranked Memphis team and have a ranked Cincinnati team on deck

-Tulane has a potent ground game, averaging over 249 yards per game and SMU's rush defense is allowing over 180+ per game.

Final Thoughts:

SMU appears like an offensive juggernaut, however, its worth mentioning that they scored just 6 points in the second half after losing their top RB and WR to injury. This offense will look different tonight without those two play makers on the field. Tulane has an imposing and ball hawking front 7 and with Buechel down two top play makers, we expect the pass rush to force him into some mistakes. The Green Wave looked great in the first half of their matchup with Houston, before completely falling apart in the second half. That perception is going to follow them heading into this game, but we expect them not to make the same mistakes two weeks in a row. Tulane should be able to keep this within a TD.

#2: Houston +4 spread against BYU for 3% of the bankroll.

Deciding Factors:

-Houston thrives in the role of underdogs, going 21-7-1 ATS in their last 29 games.

-The BYU secondary has yet to be tested against a good offense this season.

-Home underdogs in a weekday matchup is hard to ignore.

Final Thoughts:

BYU has been impressive to start the season, going 4-0 while running rough shot over their opponents. They are starting to make noise around the media circles and are starting to receive a lot of hype. Hype is not necessarily a good thing. That puts a lot of pressure on this BYU team to perform and this will be their toughest test of the season. While Houston looked out of sync in the first half of their last game, they found their footing and completely dominated offensively for the final 2 quarters, winning by 18 points, despite turning the ball over 5 times. This Houston offense will test an unproven BYU secondary and we expect this to be a back and forth game with Houston possibly challenging for the outright win at the end. The points will prove to have value in this one.
