There is one pick tonight.
Texas Rangers (+135) on the ML against Los Angeles Angels risking 3% to win 4.05%.
(Sampson and Pena must start for wager to have action)
The Angels come into this series with the Texas Rangers having lost 5 straight games and have been outscored by 58-13 in the process, which begs the question as to how exactly LA should be this big a favorite in this contest?
Simply put, the way that this team has been playing as of late, they cannot be trusted to win a game, let alone be a hefty favorite to do so. Texas' Adrian Sampson may be new to the rotation, but he has pitched well over his first two outings, sporting a respectable 2.53 ERA and WHIP of 0.94. He has given up just 3 earned runs over the course of 10.5 innings, with one of those starts coming against the Angels back on 9/11. In that contest, he held the Angels to just 2 hits and one earned run over 5 innings of work.
Angels starter Felix Pena has not exactly lit the world on fire this season himself. He is just 1-3 with a 4.93 ERA in eight home starts this season. He was just shelled at Oakland for 6 earned runs on 6 hits over 4 innings. At this point is appears that he is simply getting way too much respect from the oddsmakers in this one.
The Angels have been giving up a ton of runs recently and they face another explosive offense tonight with the Rangers coming to town. The Angels will eventually end their losing streak, however, at this price, the value is on the Rangers.
