There is one pick tonight.
Take Atlanta Braves (+118) on the ML against Boston Red Sox risking 3% to win 3.54%.
(Newcomb and Porcello must start for wager to have action)
The Boston Red Sox have been nothing short of dominant this season. They currently have the best record in the league and are currently chasing a franchise best regular season win total. Given their utter dominance, we find it extremely interesting to see them listed as very short favorites in Game 2 with the Atlanta Braves. The Red Sox have been a team that the oddsmakers have made extremely expensive to back this season, so the fact that they appear to be giving their potential backers a 'discount' is a very telling move and one that we feel speaks volumes about how they expect this game to play out.
Rick Porcello is winless in his last three outings and has been struggling on the mound. He has given up a combined 12 runs and 20 hits in his last 17 innings. The fact that Brian Johnson failed to last two innings the other night means that the Red Sox had to go to their bullpen early and used 4 relievers in that contest. The bullpen arms could still be fatigued heading into this contest. If Porcello continues to struggle on the mound, it will put a lot of pressure on the relivers tonight and that will surely give the Braves the advantage.
At this point in the season, Atlanta needs this victory much more than the Red Sox do. While it's always tough to go against the winningest team in the league, we believe tonight is a good opportunity for them to stumble. The Braves find a way to win this one and even up the series tonight.
