There is 1 college football pick today.

Take Virginia Tech +7 spread against Florida State for 3% of the bankroll.

Virginia Tech will be taking the field looking to make a big mark through the air in this contest. Last season, QB Josh Jackson showcased big-play potential as he composited over 3,300 total yards from scrimmage to go along with 26 total scores. Always a threat to run, Jackson and the Virginia Tech offense will have more than a couple of tricks up their sleeves during this game.

Florida State is a big-name program, and while they finally get their talented QB, Deondre Francois, back from injury, this Seminoles team is quite a bit different than when he left. They lost a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, have no proven receivers and will be breaking in a new head coach in Willie Taggert. We have already seen many highly touted coaches fall in the opening weekend and we believe Taggert could be the next to do so.

These teams are evenly matched on both sides of the ball, but we believe Jackson is the x-factor in this contest. If he can keep the Florida State defense on its heels and continue to make plays, he will give his team a great chance to pull off the upset. Meanwhile, the Hokies defense has been a staple of the team for decades and despite losing some talent in the offseason, they should not take a huge step back this season. It's been a long time since Francois saw live action and with so many moving pieces, this is simply going to be too much for Florida State to overcome. Virginia Tech is certainly capable of pulling off the upset, but regardless, they should be able to keep this game competitive and stay within this generous number.
