There is one NBA pick tonight.
Los Angeles Lakers -7.5 spread against Dallas Mavericks for 3% of the bankroll.
The start of the LeBron James era in Los Angeles hasn't gone exactly as the King had planned as his team is currently just 2-5 on the season. Their most recent loss, a 124-120 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves seemed to spark a fire under James as he voiced his frustration with the team's current struggles. As we have known from times past, a motivated King is a very dangerous player.
The Lakers are a talented team and we expected there would be a transition period while the team developed the necessary chemistry to compete in the Western Conference. After dropping their first three games (expected) it appears that things were finally clicking with 2 straight victories. But after two straight defeats, many are already talking about James pushing the panic button. With the day off to reflect on their most recent loss and the fact that James has been the voice in the locker room to motivate the other players, we expect to see a solid, motivated effort from everyone on the court tonight.
The Mavericks simply don't have the talent to compete with LA top to bottom. The Lakers returned Brandon Ingram back to the lineup against Minnesota and offensively they haven't had much issue. Their biggest struggle has been on the defensive side of the ball and while we don't expect all of their holes to be patched overnight, we do expect to see a concentrated effort on containing the Dallas offense tonight. Outside of the rookie, Donic, we don't believe they will have enough firepower in order to keep up with what should be a motivated Lakers team tonight. This may seem like a lot of points to lay with a struggling Lakers' team, but with this being one of the highest listed totals on the slate, we believe the Lakers will out-pace their opponents and come away with a double-digit victory and at least temporarily stop the bleeding.
