There is one MLB pick tonight.
Boston Red Sox (-140) on the ML against LA Dodgers risking 4.20% to win 3%.
(Price and Ryu must start for wager to have action)
The Boston Red Sox set the tone for the series, coming away with an emphatic win in Game 1 last night and we believe their momentum carries them over to another victory in Game 2 tonight.
David Price got the proverbial "monkey off his back" in his last start, picking up his first ever career playoff victory. The veteran had been 0-9 in his previous 9 postseason starts but pitched a gem of a game to close out the Houston Astros in the ALCS. That victory had to relieve a lot of pressure off his shoulders and we expect a repeat showing tonight in Game 2.
Hyun-Jin Ryu on the other hand is coming off a disastrous outing in his most recent start, giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits in just 3 innings of work in his starts against the Brewers. He has been tagged for 17 hits and 7 earned runs through 14 innings in these playoffs. He has been one of the more hittable pitchers for the Dodgers recently. He has also struggled on the road this season, going just 2-2 over 8 road starts, with a 4.63 ERA in those contests. Given how well the Red Sox have been seeing the ball, it could be another short night for Ryu tonight.
This game is going to come down to which team is able to find more offense. Thus far, the Red Sox have scored 7 or more runs in 4 of their last 5 games. On flip side, the Dodgers haven't scored more than 5 runs in any of their last 8 games. IF Price pitches the way that he did against the Astros, the Red Sox should have a decided advantage and should take a commanding lead in this playoff series. We just don't see a situation where the Dodgers win tonight, therefore, the value is on the Red Sox in this matchup.
