There is one MLB pick tonight.

New York Yankees (-139) on the ML against Boston Red Sox risking 4.17% to win 3%.
(Sabathia and Porcello must start for wager to have action)

The Boston Red Sox offense exploded last night enroute to a convincing 16-1 victory over the New York Yankees to take the series lead 2 games to 1. While it would make sense to back the Red Sox once again tonight in this position, especially with the offensive momentum on their side, we simply don't feel that is the best play tonight. The Red Sox will undoubtedly come into this matchup confident, knowing that they split the series in NY and could play Game 5 (if it goes that far) back in Boston. Meanwhile, the Yankees will be playing for their postseason life tonight and we believe that will be the deciding factor.

While many may be turned off by the fact that NY used 5 relievers in yesterday’s blowout loss, they didn't use any of their big-named relievers. They will have Betances, Britton, Robertson and Chapman all on standby ready to go at the first hint that Sabathia gets in trouble. Boone has also stated that any of those guys could be slated to see multiple innings tonight if the game script calls for it. We all know how tough those guys have been to score off of this season and with the Yankees playing for their postseason lives in this contest, we expect them to pull out all the stops.

It's tough to go against the Red Sox, given how well they have been playing, especially as underdogs, however, the Yankees have been an extremely tough out not only at home, but also off a loss. They don't lose back-to-back games often and with this being their most important game of the season, we expect them to rise to the occasion and put in a strong effort tonight. Rick Porcello has been inconsistent at best over the past few months. He pitched 2 innings back on 9/30 against the Yankees, but prior to that, he has not seen any live in-game action since September 22nd! That's nearly 16 days of going deep into a game, and that amount of time off could affect him on the mound tonight. The Yankees offense will be looking to breakout tonight after being silenced, and we believe they do enough to extend the series back to Boston for one final game.
