There is one college basketball pick tonight.
Georgia +5 spread against Temple for 3% of the bankroll.
With this being so early in the season, it's tough to get a solid read on how teams are going to be towards the mid / late stages of the season. That being said, both Georgia and Temple appear to have the makeup to be tournament bound teams this season and this matchup presents an interesting one, at least on paper.
Temple already has two games under their belt this season, although they have come against what could be considered as "inferior competition". Georgia has only played one game thus far, although it was an impressive one, as they dropped 110 points against Savannah State. Where we believe the advantage is going to lie in this game is with Georgia's size and depth. The Bulldogs are the "bigger" team in this matchup and that should pose problems for the Owls on the defensive end of the floor. The Bulldogs also have a new look on offense under new coach Tom Crean who has taken over from Indiana.
Crean has been known as a run and gun style coach and that proved to be the case in the Bulldogs first game this season. He has a very intelligent offensive mind and while it's still early in the season, we can already see his influence in his players style of play on the court. Once they get to mid-season form, this could be a very dangerous Georgia team.
Temple has the advantage of this game being played in Philadelphia and have two guards who have shown the ability to take a game over in Shizz Alston Jr and Quinton Rose. Other than those two however, the real question on this Temple team is if they can get production from other places on the floor. Georgia has the playmakers who have shown they can go off, and under Crean, that makes for a very dangerous team. We wouldn't be surprised if the Bulldogs pulled off the outright upset but should be able to keep this game competitive and stay within this number. The value is on the visitors in this one tonight.
