There is one college basketball pick tonight.

Kentucky Wildcats -2 spread against Duke Blue Devils for 3% of the bankroll.

The Duke Blue Devils are a team that received a lot of hype in the offseason, and on paper, appear to be the team with the most overall talent in the country. A lot of that hype has circled around the addition of Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett, both who come into this season highly touted. Despite all of their talents, let's not forget that this is an entirely new Duke team. They lost all 5 of their starters from a season ago and that can certainly affect a team's chemistry, especially in the early part of the season. Duke is the odds-on favorite to win the National Title, but with this being the first game of the season, we're not entirely sure they will be the dominating force that they likely will be as the season grows on.

If there is one coach who knows what it is like to start with a completely new team each season, it would be John Calipari. Coach Cal often has the daunting task of reassembling a new team at Kentucky each and every season. What is different about this year however is that Coach Cal actually has some returning talent to his starting 5. Unlike years past, there will be some 'veteran' presence on the Wildcats team, mixed with the incoming new talent, which is a big reason why people are talking about this year's Kentucky team being one of the best in a long time.

With this being the first game of the season, it is tough to know what to expect from both teams. Duke has the edge in talent and athleticism, but Kentucky will likely have the edge in terms of experience. We expect this to be a close game between two of the best teams in the country. That being said, Duke has always been their most dangerous from the perimeter. If their shots are falling, they are incredibly tough to beat. However, with this team still being so young and inexperienced, and lacking "big game" experience, we believe that is going to have an effect on their outside shooting and allow the experience of Kentucky to take over the game late. This should be a highly entertaining game, but experience will trump youth in this one as the Wildcats find a way to come away with the win and cover.
