There is one pick today.
Take Baltimore Orioles (-103) on the ML against Chicago White Sox risking 3.09% to win 3%.
(Cashner and Santiago must start for wager to have action.)
While neither pitcher in this contest is having a great season or is an elite option, we do believe the Orioles will have a huge edge on the mound tonight as Andrew Cashner squares off against Hector Santiago.
While Cashner has had his struggles at home this season, he has performed well on the road, going 1-1 with a 3.78 over three starts. Meanwhile, Hector Santiago has been absolutely crushed this season. He is 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA and 1.923 WHIP over three starts. He has dropped 8 consecutive decisions and has failed to record a win dating all the way back to May 9, 2017 when he was a member of the Twins. He owns a terrible 27:19 strikeout to walk ratio and his control has been a major hinderance for him this season.
Both teams are near the bottom of their respective divisions, but it should be noted that the Orioles have the unfortunate luck of playing in the ultra-competitive AL East. While struggling against some of the better teams, Baltimore has been able to hold their own against the lesser-tiered team in the league and should match up well with the White Sox this series.
It's hard to trust either of these teams at the moment, but after a tough series against the Boston Red Sox, the Orioles should have the advantage as they take a huge step down in talent against the White Sox. They should bounce back tonight and get to Santiago early and often. At these odds, the road team has value tonight.
