There is one pick today.
Take Atlanta Braves (+100) on the RL (-1.5 runs) against Miami Marlins risking 3% to win 3%.
(Teheran and Chen must start for wager to have action.)
The Atlanta Braves bounced back in a big way last night, putting 8 runs on the scoreboard and pounding the Miami Marlins 8-1. We had expected an offensive performance from Atlanta and they delivered. We expect that momentum to carry over into this afternoon's series finale.
Wei-Yan-Chen has struggled to start the season. In 16 innings pitched thus far, he had allowed 14 earned runs, 19 hits and given up 6 homeruns. His strikeout to walk ratio is a paltry 9-to-11 and he simply has not looked comfortable on the mound. He is coming off a solid performance against the struggling Dodgers, however, we do expect him to struggle in this contest, especially against a hard-hitting team like Atlanta who are seeing the ball extremely well at the moment.
Julio Teheran has been spectacular over his past few performances, going 3-0 with an impressive 1.86 ERA over his last three starts. Given Miami's struggles on offense this season, we don't expect that they will be able to do much damage against Teheran, especially if he continues to pitch as solidly as he has been.
Atlanta gave up the first run in yesterday's contest but continued to pile up runs as the game went on. We expect a similar effort in this one. Atlanta is simply too good to allow the Marlins to win this series, especially on Atlanta's home turf. Just like last night, we expect another stellar offensive performance from Atlanta as they should go on to win this one convincingly. Three of the Braves 4 wins over Miami this season have come by more than 2 runs and we don't see that changing in this matchup.
