Yankees vs. Nationals game that was supposed to resume has been postponed until June 18th. Therefore last night's wager has been "Cancelled".

Take Washington Nationals (+116) on the ML against New York Yankees risking 3% to win 3.48%
(Gonzalez and Tanaka must start for wager to have action.)

Two of the hottest teams in the league square off tonight in a 2-game interleague matchup as the Washington Nationals host the New York Yankees. Both teams come into this matchup red-hot, with the Yankees winning 19 of their last 22 games, while the hosts have won 13 of 15. This should be an entertaining matchup between two potential World Series candidates, so this game will likely come down to which teams makes the fewest mistakes.

We believe the Nationals will have the edge on the mound tonight as Washington's Gio Gonzalez squares off against New York's Masahiro Tanaka. Tanaka gave up four runs and a season-high eight hits in 5 1/3 innings against Boston his last time out, also tying a season low with three strikeouts. Tanaka has struggled this season compared to his impressive numbers a year ago. Tanaka is 3-0 on the road this season, but he has been hittable, with a 4.30 ERA through 4 contests. Gio Gonzalez has been stellar again this season for the Nationals. He is 4-2 overall with an impressive 2.22 ERA. In 4 starts at home this season, he has been even more impressive, lowering his ERA to just 1.61. Gonzalez has allowed one run or fewer in five of his eight starts, including three straight, the latest of which saw him strike out a season high-tying eight batters in six innings. He has given up just one homerun in his 44.7 innings pitched this season.

These teams are evenly matched, with both having good power in their lineups on offense, and solid bullpen pitching on defense. This one is likely going to be decided by the performance of the starting pitchers and given the way Gonzalez has been playing and his ability to limit the long-ball, the Yankees will likely have trouble putting runs on the board. Tanaka has been prone to giving up homeruns this season and the Washington bats should do enough damage against him tonight to come away with the closely contested victory.
