There is one pick tonight.
Take Tampa Bay Rays (-106) on the ML against Toronto Blue Jays risking 3.18% to win 3%.
(Faria and Sanchez must start for wager to have action.)
The Tampa Bay Rays are a team that, for the most part, have been flying under the radar recently. They struggled to start the season but have quietly put together quite an impressive streak, having won 8 of their last 11 games. They have also turned on the pressure at Tropicana Field, where Tampa is riding a current 5 (home) game winning streak. While all of the attention is focused on the Red Sox and Yankees within the ultra-competitive AL East, the way Tampa has been playing, they could make things interesting if they can manage to close the gap, and that starts with this series with the team directly ahead of them in the standings.
The Rays already managed to take Game 1 of this series last night, and we believe they will have the advantage in this contest as well. Jacob Faria started the season off rocky, however, he has been fantastic over the last couple of weeks, especially at home. In 3 starts at Tropicana this season, he is 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA and WHIP of 1.109. In his most recent outing, he went 8 strong innings while blanking the Detroit Tigers and striking out six.
Aaron Sanchez will pitch opposite of Faria, and it’s fair to say that Sanchez has been struggling as of late. He's given up at least one home run in back to back starts and has not given up less than 2 earned runs in each of his last three starts. With the Rays bats heating up, we expect Sanchez to struggle yet again on the mound. This is an important series for both teams, however, we simply believe that Tampa is playing the better all-around game at the moment. This will likely be close but given all the advantages that the Rays should have, these are solid odds to lay with the home team to pull off the win.
