There is one pick tonight.

Take Penn State -3 spread (buy the half point) against Utah for 3% of the bankroll.

The Nittany Lions started their quest for the NIT Tournament Title with a home win over Temple and then followed that victory up with road wins over very solid Notre Dame and Marquette teams. Their most impressive win this postseason however had to be their complete domination over a very good Mississippi State team in their Final 4 matchup. The Penn State offense had a strong showing against a very good defense as they hit 49.2% of their shots from the field overall, including 55.0% of their shots from long range while committing just five turnovers, however, it was the defense who were the stars of the show. They held allowed the Bulldogs to hit just 39.6% of their shots from the field overall while allowing them to connect on just three of their 15 attempts from long range. Other than their 80-point outing allowed to Marquette, the Nittany Lions have held their opponents to just 57, 63 and 60 points respectively in this tournament.

Utah has had a strong postseason themselves knocking off the likes of St Mary’s and Louisville, before edging out somewhat of a nail-biter against a very game Western Kentucky team. As good as Utah has looked at times, Penn State has simply looked better. Utah struggled in their most recent matchup and that could shake their confidence a bit ahead of the championship game. Meanwhile, Penn State has looked better in every game thus far and has hit their stride on both offense and defense. Penn State played a bulk of this tournament on the road and now playing on a neutral court gives them that much more of an advantage. Both defenses should keep each team in the game, but we believe it will be the offense of Penn State behind Tony Carr and Shep Garner who are the difference in this contest. Penn State completes their impressive run by taking home the championship tonight.
