There is one pick today.
Take Pittsburgh Pirates (+105) on the ML against Milwaukee Brewers risking 3% to win 3.15%.
(Kuhl and Suter must start for wager to have action.)
Chad Kuhl managed to pick up the win in his most recent start, limiting Cincinnati to two runs and six hits in six innings of a 3-2 victory which ended a streak of 6 straight starts without a decision. We believe that streak has somewhat skewed the public perception of his abilities and we plan to use that to our advantage tonight.
Kuhl turned in his best outing of the year against the Brewers at Miller Park back on May 6, where he allowed just a single-hit over 7-scorless innings while striking out eight in a 9-0 victory. Kuhl has absolutely owned the Brewers in his career, going 3-0 with an impressive 1.91 ERA in six career starts. He has also struck out 34 in 33 innings in those games, holding Brewers hitters to a .202 average while yielding just seven runs overall. The Pirates are a perfect 6-0 against Milwaukee when Kuhl has taken the mound.
Brent Suter will take the mound opposite of Kuhl tonight and has emerged as a key contributor to Milwaukee being in contention for the division lead throughout the first half of the season. The southpaw, who currently leads the Brewers in wins, is 5-1 with a 3.24 ERA in his last six starts. Suter has certainly been impressive this season, but again, we believe the public perception has been somewhat skewed due to his recent performances. His last two starts were victories over Philadelphia, a team that is not exactly know as a powerhouse in the league. He has also alternated win and losses in his last four starts on the road, where he is 3-2 with a 4.00 ERA overall.
This has been a closely played series thus far, but the edge must be given to the Pirates here. Not only should they have the pitching advantage with Kuhl on the mound, but they are also 6-2 in their 8 home games in this series with Milwaukee. Pittsburgh arguably shouldn't be the underdogs tonight and that places all the value on them.
