There is one pick tonight.
Take Arizona Diamondbacks (-137) on the ML against Miami Marlins risking 4.11% to win 3%.
(Buchholz and Hernandez must start for wager to have action.)
To say the Arizona Diamondbacks have been struggling over the last couple of weeks would be an understatement. At the moment, they look like a completely different team than what started the season. That being said, this is still an extremely talented team, with an explosive lineup and a series with a team that is struggling even more so may just be what the DBacks need to snap out of their funk and get back on track.
Clay Buchholz will make his third start of the season tonight and has pitched impressively thus far. He was outstanding last time out, holding the Athletics to only one run on two hits in six innings, however he received no run support and was ultimately charged with the loss. The veteran right-hander was sharp in his season debut as well, limiting the Mets to one run in five innings. Against a poor hitting team like Miami, Buchholz should have himself another solid showing.
Miami will send Elieser Hernandez to the mound tonight for his fourth appearance. Hernandez has pitched admirably thus far, despite his 0-2 record. That being said, we don't believe Hernandez will be much of a factor tonight. The Arizona bats may not have a great showing, considering this is their first look at the right-hander, however, the Marlins bullpen has been awful this season, especially on the road, with a collective 6.91 ERA over 100 innings of work. If Arizona is going to win this game, it will likely be due to the damage they are able to inflict against an extremely suspect bullpen.
Both teams are evenly matched, record-wise, however that is where we believe the similarities end. Arizona is the better team, with the veteran pitcher on the mound and are also at home. Those advantages should be enough to right the ship, at least for one evening, and pick up the win against a bad team. This is a fair price to lay with the DBacks tonight.
