There is one pick today.

Take Milwaukee Brewers (-105) on the ML against Washington Nationals risking 3.15% to win 3%
(Chacin and Gonzalez must start for wager to have action)

Even though they have been struggling as of late, this is a matchup that we believe favors the Brewers. Milwaukee is only 2.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central, and will be trying to retake the lead by winning the series against the Nationals. They should have a good chance to pick up the win tonight with Jhoulys Chacin on the mound.

Chacin 8-3 overall record and sports a respectable 3.68 ERA this season. Opposing battings are hitting just .232 versus Chacin so far this year and he’s been especially good as of late, winning five of his last seven decisions overall. He silenced the Pittsburgh Pirates in his last start, allowing just two earned runs on one hit across 5 ⅓ innings of work in a no-decision.

The Nationals will counter with Gio Gonzalez who has struggled as of late. Gonzalez is winless over his last eight starts during that span. He owns a 6.51 ERA and a .304 opposing batting average since the beginning of June. He has not had great command over his pitches and his sinker might be the main culprit. He is going to it more than any other pitch and hitters are getting a good read on it and batting a healthy .325 off of it.

The Brewers simply need to win this game as they own a slim 1.5-game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL Wild Card race. Chacin has fared well against the Nationals this season, but the same cannot be said for Gonzalez as he is winless Milwaukee over the past three seasons and has an ERA of 11.00 at Miller Park during that span. There is solid value backing the home team in this contest.
