There is one pick today.
Take Atlanta Braves (+110) on the ML against Milwaukee Brewers risking 3% to win 3.30%
(Foltynewicz and Peralta must start for wager to have action.)
The Atlanta Braves dropped the opening game of the series last night 7-2 against the NL leading Milwaukee Brewers, however, we believe in this rematch tonight Atlanta will have the upper hand given what should be an advantage on the mound.
Mike Foltynewicz has quietly become the Ace of the Braves' pitching rotation and continues to play well above expectations this season. He is currently second in the NL in ERA, hits per nine innings (5.966) and WAR for pitchers (2.8). The 26-year-old was spectacular in his most recent outing, holding the Cardinals to just one hit while striking out nine. Foltynewicz has limited opponents to two earned runs or fewer in 15 of his 16 starts and owns a 0.87 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 52 innings in his past nine starts.
The Brewers had called up Freddy Peralta twice from the minors so far this season, and if he keeps pitching this well, he likely will not return to Triple-A Colorado Springs. The 22-year old already has two double-digit strikeout performances in his first five major-league starts and three outings of zero earned runs allowed Peralta suffered his first big-league loss Sunday at Cincinnati, giving up three runs on five hits across five innings.
It will be interesting to see how that loss has affected Peralta on the mound tonight. We believe will be a bit tentative in the early going and given that the Braves bats will be motivated to make up not only for last night's loss, but also to end their 3-game skid. As underdogs, the Braves have value with the proven pitcher on the mound tonight.
