There is one pick today.
Take Boston Red Sox (+165) on the ML against New York Yankees risking 3% to win 4.95%
(Price and Severino must start for wager to have action.)
With the series tied at one-game apiece, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees conclude their series tonight from Yankees Stadium. Both teams took turns hammering each other as the Yankees dominated the Red Sox in Game 1, before Boston returned the favor in Game 2. This series finale should be highly entertaining as David Price squares off against Luis Severino.
Severino has been arguably the most dominant pitcher in the American League, ranking first in both wins and ERA, however, he has struggled against Boston in his career, going just 2-5 with a 4.26 ERA over 9 starts. As good as he has been, we believe this is the ideal spot for him to take the loss.
There were a lot of question marks surrounding David Price this season, but we recently he has been showing off his Cy Young candidate form and is coming off one of his most impressive outings in a Red Sox uniform. Price is 7-1 with a 2.72 ERA over his last nine starts, striking out 57 batters in 56 1/3 innings over that span. Boston has also won the last 8 games in where Price has taken the mound. This is also a revenge game for Price, who was reached for 4 runs in just a single inning the last time he faced the Yankees. Price had to leave that game with numbness in his fingers, so this is his opportunity to atone for that performance.
Both teams have shown their offensive power in this series, however, we expect this game to be more of a pitchers' duel. Both teams are capable of winning this game, and with this being the series finale in a heated rivalry, anything can happen. The price tag on this game is high, which puts all of the value on the Red Sox in this matchup.
