There is one pick tonight.
Take Wisconsin -5 spread against Illinois for 3% the bankroll.
To say that the Wisconsin Badgers, a perennial NCAA Tournament team and one of the powerhouses of the Big 10 conference for the better part of a decade has struggled this season would be an understatement. They hit rock bottom in their most recent contest where they suffered their worst loss in 7 years, falling 78-50 against Purdue. The Badgers went nearly 7 and half minutes without scoring a point to open the game and could not ever recover ground. That performance pretty much summed up the Badgers season. The last time the Badgers did not make the NCAA Tournament was during the 1997-98 season, but that is surely in jeopardy if they can't turn things around.
Fortunately for them, they now have a matchup with the Illinois Fighting Illini, another Big 10 team that has struggled mightily this season. Illinois has come awfully close many times this season, but they have suffered heartbreaking defeat after defeat and are winless in conference play this season. They have held a lead in the second half in 8 of their 9 losses and had possession of the ball with either the lead or in a tie game with less than a minute remaining in four of them. This team continue to find new and devastating ways to lose games and their constant demoralizing losses are likely starting to affect their confidence.
The Badgers have dominated this rivalry in recent history, winning 11 straight in the series and the last 6 at home. After their embarrassing loss in their last contest, we expect the Badgers to come out fired up in front of a raucous crowd and looking to avenge their past performance. We believe that will spell bad news for an Illinois team that has struggled in conference play this season. This matchup may be close, but given Illinois' propensity for not being able to close games, Wisconsin should come away with the win and cover tonight.
