There is one college football pick tonight. Please note that kickoff for this game is scheduled for 5:15pm EST.
Miami -2.5 spread against Wisconsin for 3% of the bankroll.
There has been a lot of talk surrounding this year's Pinstripe Bowl, questioning how the Miami Hurricanes are going to fare having to play in a cold-weather game in Bronx Stadium. It's well-known that teams accustomed to warm weather struggle when playing in the frigid elements, however, other than that one advantage, we don't see Wisconsin have much of a path to winning this game.
The Badgers are a one-dimensional team, focused on running the football with their star sophomore, Jonathan Taylor. The commitment to the run game has allowed passing lanes to open up through the air, and that is how Wisconsin has been able to exploit teams in their victories this season. That being said, Wisconsin will be without their starting QB for this contest, which means they will have inexperienced play under center. That could prove to be disastrous as not only is this game on the road, in the cold, but they will also have to deal with one of the more opportunistic defenses in the country.
The Manny Diaz led defense has been a household name for the better part of the last two seasons. They have thrived on creating chaos and forcing teams into mistakes. This will be Diaz's last game on the Hurricane sideline as he took the HC job at Temple. There is no question that his defense is going to want to show up in a big way today to send their DC off with another win.
Add in to the fact that this is a revenge game for Miami. These two teams met a season ago and it was Wisconsin who came away with a 34-24 victory. The Miami defense was gashed in that contest and there is no question that not only the players, but Diaz himself will want to exact some manner of retribution on the Badgers tonight.
A lot of talk has been made about the inconsistent play at QB for Miami. Both N'Kosi Perry and Malik Rozier have underperformed this season, however, both have also shown flashes of brilliance as well. It's not too long ago that Rozier led these Hurricanes to a perfect 10-0 start, before collapsing at the end of last season. Whichever QB is under center, they will still have a decided advantage over an unproven one for Wisconsin.
This should be a low-scoring, ugly type game, but we believe Miami ignores the weather conditions and exacts revenge in this contest as they come away with a big win and cover.
