There is one pick tonight.
Cleveland Cavaliers +6.5 spread against Brooklyn Nets for 3% of the bankroll.
It was certainly expected that the Cleveland Cavaliers would be in a rebuilding year with the departure of LeBron James, and their overall record reflects that, as they rank dead last in the Eastern Conference at just 4-18. That being said, despite their less-than-stellar record, they have actually been impressive given how competitive they have remained despite what they lost in the offseason. There are numerous players that are stepping up in place of James, and while no one person will be able to take the place of the King, they have been getting more contributions for various places and actually look more like a "team" than they did when James was leading the franchise.
The fact that they continue to play competitive basketball, makes getting over two-possessions in this contest against another lowly team, almost too good to pass up. The Brooklyn Nets are another team that continues to struggle in the Eastern Conference. Ever since Caris LeVert went down with an injury, they have failed to play consistent basketball. They are getting contributions from various players on the court, however, they have not translated into wins.
The Nets have been incredibly weak in the post and that should allow Cleveland to feast down low in the post with Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance going up against the likes of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Jarett Allen. Brooklyn doesn't rank that far ahead of Cleveland in terms of overall record, as they are just 8-16 and are on a 6-game losing streak. They are also just 2-10 in their last 12 matchups. We don't believe they should be laying these many points against any team at the moment. If Cleveland can continue to play competitive basketball, this could prove to be one of the best values on the board tonight.
