There is one pick tonight.
Take New York Mets (-125) on the ML against Baltimore Orioles risking 3.75% to win 3%.
(Wheeler and Bundy must start for wager to have action)
The New York Mets will be looking to avoid a 2-game sweep at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles tonight and should have a great chance to do so with Zack Wheeler taking the mound. Wheeler endured a span of more than two months without a victory, but he has followed a 13-start winless drought with a superb stretch. Wheeler has five straight wins and four consecutive quality starts and has allowed four runs and only 16 hits in 27 innings over his last four turns, striking out 27 and walking only four. He has also fared well on the road, going 4-1 record with a 3.66 ERA in 10 starts away from home this season.
Wheeler blanked the Orioles on three hits over seven innings on June 6 but had to settle for a no-decision in a 1-0 setback to Dylan Bundy, which makes this somewhat of a revenge game for Wheeler. Dylan Bundy has taken a step back this season and has permitted at least 4 runs or more in 5 of his last 8 outings. He was rocked for eight runs over five innings by the Red Sox last time out, including a pair of homers that boosted his total to a major league-worst 29. The Mets are 0-3 this season against Baltimore, who owns the worst record in the Majors this season, so we find it hard to believe they will be swept tonight.
Baltimore doesn't have much to play for for the remainder of the season, while the Mets have been almost automatic with Wheeler on the mound. Add in that fact that the O's are just 6-20 in their last 26 interleague games. Wheeler should be able to contain the Baltimore offense with the Mets' bats doing just enough damage off Bundy to come away with the series-saving victory. The value is on New York in this one.
