There is one pick tonight.
Take Oakland Athletics (+114) on the ML against LA Angels risking 3% to win 3.42%.
(Jackson and Skaggs must start for wager to have action)
Things were looking good for the Oakland A's in Game 1 of their series with the Angels as they raced out to a 3-0 lad after the first, but things managed to go downhill from there. The Angels rallied and managed to escape with a 5-4 win and we believe that sets up the A's for a bounce back performance tonight. They should have the advantage on the mound tonight as well as Edwin Jackson is slater to pitch opposite Tyler Skaggs.
Jackson has won back-to-back starts, allowing one unearned run and eight hits over 12 frames in the victories. Jackson has pitched well on the road thus far, but is winless in 4 tries, something that we expect to change tonight. In his career, he is 4-4 with a 3.83 ERA and one complete game in 12 career appearances (nine starts) against the Angels.
The Angels will send out Tyler Skaggs tonight who is expected to return from an adductor strain that landed him on the disabled list and will make his first start since July 31. Skaggs took the loss in his most recent outing as he was battered for 10 runs on eight hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings at Tampa Bay. Skaggs entered the season 0-4 with a 6.26 ERA in five career starts against Oakland but has managed won both of his turns in 2018. We don't expect he will win a third.
Both teams need this victory, however, Oakland is the much more balanced and well-rounded team. They have been one of the better road teams in the league and after having lost in somewhat heart-breaking fashion last night, we believe the timing is right (and value is there) for them to even up the series tonight.
