There is one pick tonight.
Take Boston Red Sox (-110) on the ML against New York Yankees risking 3.30% to win 3%
(Johnson and Sabathia must start for wager to have action)
This is an extremely important series for both the Red Sox and the Yankees. Besides the historical rivalry that these two teams share, they are in stiff competition with each other for dominance over the AL East. With this being the first of 10 final games being played between these clubs to end the season, the winner of this series will likely put themselves in the driver’s seat ahead of the postseason. The Yankees are without their best hitter in Aaron Judge for the foreseeable future and are also without their power hitting catcher in Gary Sanchez, which makes them prime for the picking.
The Red Sox haven't had much success against CC Sabathia in recent meetings, however, it appears that the long season is finally starting to catch up with the veteran. Sabathia has really struggled of late, going 0-1 with a 6.45 ERA and 1.565 WHIP in his last three starts and is just 2-3 with a4.67 ERA in 8 road starts this season.
Taking the mound tonight for the Red Sox is Brian Johnson, who may be the most underrated starter in baseball. All he does is win for the Red Sox while posting terrific numbers. Johnson is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA in six starts this season for Boston. The Red Sox are also an impressive 9-2 when he has taken the mound, dating back to last season.
This is a heated rivalry and these two teams almost always put on a show for the fans, but with the Yankees vulnerable and this game being played at Fenway, the edge has to side with the home team. It's not often that you get an opportunity to back the Sox at home at near even money, so when it presents itself, it almost always has value.
