There is one pick tonight.
Take LA Dodgers (-137) on the ML against San Francisco Giants risking 4.11% to win 3%.
(Ryu and Heaney must start for wager to have action.)
The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off somewhat surprising back-to-back losses against a struggling Miami Marlins team. Due to their poor two-game stretch, we believe that has somewhat skewed the perception of the Dodgers ahead of this matchup which has opened up value.
This should be a pitching matchup tonight as Hyun-Jin Ryu squares off against Derek Holland. These are two pitchers who are trending the complete opposite direction. Ryu has been spectacular in his last few outings, going 3-0 with a 0.95 ERA and 0.526 WHIP while producing a 25:4 strikeout to walk ratio while giving up just 7 total hits! Opponents are hitting just .141 against the southpaw this season.
Meanwhile, Derek Holland has progressively gotten worse in each of his last 3 starts. He is 0-2 with a 4.86 ERA and WHIP of 1.020 over the same span. In his most recent outing, he served up 4 runs on 5 hits (3 homeruns) against the LA Angels. Against a hard-hitting team like the Dodgers, we wouldn't be surprised to see a similar performance from him tonight. Holland hasn't had much success against the Dodgers and was tagged for 5 runs on 3 hits in five innings when these two teams met on March 31st.
The Dodgers have also owned the series meetings as of late, winning 11 of the last 16 against San Francisco. After two head-scratching losses, this is a prime bounce back spot for the reigning ML Champs and we believe there is solid value at these odds given their numerous advantages.
