There is one pick today. Please note that first pitch is scheduled for 1:05pm EST

Take Toronto Blue Jays (+152) on the ML against New York Yankeess risking 3% to win 4.56%.
(Stroman and Montgomery must start for wager to have action.)

Marcus Stroman hasn’t exactly gotten off to the start of the season as he would have liked, going 0-1 with a 7.98 ERA through three starts, however, we feel that the perception of him as a pitcher has been somewhat skewed due to his struggling performances. While Stroman has given up some runs in his outings, we are willing to look past that in the early going and instead focus on the potential that he brings to the mound. Through 14 innings, Stroman has amassed 16 strikeouts! What that tells us is that he has the ability to baffle hitters at the plate, he is simply struggling with a bit of control issues and leaving balls hanging in the zone. Stroman is due for a quality showing and once he gets his control issue resolved, he will be a scary pitcher in the Blue Jay's rotation. We don't believe he is that big of an underdog in this matchup.

Jordan Montgomery entered his second season with high expectations to build on what was a solid rookie campaign and in his first start this season, it appeared he was on his way where he held the Tampa Bay Rays to just a single run over 5 frames. Since then however, it has been a tough go for Montgomery. Over his last two starts, he has given up 7 earned runs on 15 hits, including 2 long-balls. What makes matters worse is that those outings came against two teams who seem to be struggling on offense. In this contest, Montgomery must go against a lineup that is third in the Majors in runs scored this season and if he continues to pitch the way he has; it could be a short outing this afternoon.

The Blue Jays managed to even up the series last night in Game 2, and we believe their momentum should carry over into this contest. The Jays have been solid against left-handed pitching this season, going 5-2 overall. They recently lost a close game against lefty CC Sabathia in Game 1, so this is an opportunity for them to not let another opportunity slip away. They have also been nearly unbeatable in games played during the day this season, going 5-1 in six contests. This matchup is much more even that the oddsmakers are suggesting, which makes a play on the underdog hold quite a bit of value.
