There is one MLB pick today. Since we are backing a hefty underdog, we recommend this be played as a 2% wager in order to mitigate risk.

Take Detroit Tigers (+250) on the ML against Cleveland Indians risking 2% to win 5%.
(Liriano and Kluber must start for wager to have action.)

The Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians open a 4-game series tonight from Progressive Field. These two teams know each other extremely well and with them being divisional rivals, it adds much more meaning to this contest, despite it being early in the season. It's series like these that can often be the difference makers come the end of the season regarding divisional standings and potential postseason play, so we expect both teams to be primed to give it their all tonight. That being said, we believe the odds on listed are extremely inflated and these teams are much more evenly matched than the oddsmakers are making it to appear.

Corey Kluber is undoubtedly the 'Ace' in the rotation for the Indians, however, he is beatable. In fact, he is 8-7 lifetime against Detroit, with a 3.76 ERA and WHIP of 1.230, so he has shown that he will give up some runs against this lineup. The Tribe are also just 11-10 against the Tigers when he has taken the mound. The Tribe are nearly a 50-50 team in this situation, which shows great value in backing the underdogs.

The Tigers also come into this contest with a bit of momentum after sweeping the White Sox in a 3-game set. Their confidence must be sky-high heading into this contest and their offense appears to be waking up at the ideal time. While all the attention is focused on Kluber in this matchup, Francisco Liriano is not a pitcher that should be overlooked. He looked fantastic in his first outing, going 6.7 innings against the Kansas City Royals, allowing just 4 hits and one earned run. The Cleveland offense has seemingly gone cold over their last few contests and if Liriano has another quality outing tonight, then offense may be hard to come by.

The oddsmakers have listed the total runs in this game to be 7, which means they are expecting a lower scoring contest. Anything can happen in a low scoring game and all it takes is one swing of the bat to change the outcome. At these odds, there is tremendous value backing the Tigers as the reward certainly outweighs the risk.
