There is one MLB pick today.
Take Chicago Cubs (-124) on the ML against Milwaukee Brewers risking 3.72% to win 3%.
(Quintana and Anderson must start for wager to have action.)
Even though the odds on this matchup don't reflect it. The Chicago Cubs should have a definitive advantage on the mound this afternoon with Jose Quintana. Quintana has silenced the Brewers bats, limiting them to only two runs in 15 innings last season, and he features a dazzling 0.90 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP in four career starts. The Brewers lineup is only hitting a combined .219 with zero home runs against him. Travis Shaw has been a force on offense for the Brewers dating back to last season, however he is just 1-for-14 with four strikeouts against Quintana.
Chase Anderson is a capable pitcher; however, he wasn’t sharp in his latest action, conceding four runs including three home runs in four innings against the Cardinals. Anderson just surrendered three home runs in his latest start, and the Cubs were able to score 12 runs including four home runs in 20.1 innings against Anderson last season. Kris Bryant will be a player to watch in this contest. Bryant did more damage against the Brewers than any other team last season, recording a .377 average with four home runs and 15 RBI’s in 69 at bats. The 26-year old third baseman is looking good at the plate early on, hitting .300 with one homer and five RBI’s, and he has drawn at least one walk in six of his last seven games. He is 6-for-15 (with three homers) against Anderson. Ben Zobrist has also had his fair share of success against the right-hander, going 7-for-14 with two homers himself.
The Cubs managed to take control of the series last night and gave the brewers a crushing blow as they rallied for 4 runs in the 9th inning to come away with a 5-2 victory. While it was a devastating way to lose for the Brewers, it had to be a confidence building victory for the Cubs. They stole all the momentum late in the game yesterday and we expect that confidence and momentum to carry over into this afternoon's finale. These are decent odds to lay with a team that should have numerous advantages in this contest.
