There is one MLB pick tonight.
Take Seattle Mariners (+111) on the ML against San Francisco Giants risking 3% to win 3.33%.
(Hernandez and Cueto must start for wager to have action.)
Even though they started the season 2-0, the San Francisco Giants have struggled to find their offense. Through 5 games this season, the Giants offense has only generated a total of 6 runs, which is a major problem. They certainly have some big-time pitchers on their roster, however, it’s impossible for this team to win ballgames simply riding the arm of their pitchers. They need offense and they simply have not been able to generate much of anything; we don't expect much to change tonight as they square off against Felix Hernandez.
There is no question that the best days of King Felix are surely behind him. He is not the dominating pitcher that he one was, however, what he has lost in velocity, he has more than made up for with technique. He is still a quality pitcher and was impressive in the season opener, holding a potent Cleveland Indians offense to just 2 hits and zero earned runs in 5.3 innings of work. Hernandez has also had quite a bit of success against San Francisco in his career, having gone a perfect 3-0 with a sparkling 1.86 ERA and WHIP of 1.034 in 4 career starts. Given his past success and the current struggles of the Giants' offense, this should put Hernandez in line for another quality showing on the mound.
While the Giants' offense has struggled, the Mariners' appear to be in mid-season form. They are 3-1 on the season and have plated a total of 18 runs over their four games. They have been producing at the plate, logging double-digit hits (36 total) in half of their appearances this season. They also hold the series advantage in recent meetings, winning 14 of the last 19 matchups.
Johnny Cueto is a quality pitcher and a tough out, however, that alone should not make the Giants' the favorites in this matchup given how they have performed recently. Cueto will likely keep the Giants in the game, however, we expect their offense to be absent once again and that will allow the Mariners, who have been producing at the dish, should generate enough offense off Cueto to come away with the win.
