There is one pick today.
Take Chicago White Sox (+195) on the ML against Houston Astros risking 3% to win 5.85%.
(Giolito and McHugh must start for wager to have action.)
For much of the year, the Houston Astros have been the best team in baseball. They have scored a league leading 815 runs thus far this season and are hitting a collective .282 which is the best in either league. Houston is coming off an impressive 7-1 win over the Mariners on Monday, which allowed them to clinch the AL West and secure their spot in the playoff this season.
Their opponents, the Chicago White Sox, have had an opposite season this year as they have been one of the worst teams in the AL with a 60-89 overall record. That being said, the White Sox actually catch the Astros in a pretty unfavorable spot in this contest. With the Astros clinching the AL West and then having the night off last night, one must question exactly how motivated the Houston players will be coming into this contest against a lowly team like the White Sox.
Despite not having a chance to make the playoff this season, the White Sox have been playing decent baseball, having gone 4-3 in their last 7 games, and have had quite a bit of success against the Astros in recent meetings. Chicago is a perfect 5-0 in their last 5 matchups against Houston. Additionally, the Astros are 0-4 in Colin McHugh's last 4 starts against the White Sox. If there was ever a prime opportunity for a Houston letdown, this would be the matchup. Given the White Sox recent track record against the 'Stros and the fact that they are near 2-1 underdogs against a Houston team that may not care much for putting much of an effort into this contest, the value resides with the road team.
