There is one MLB pick today!

Take Atlanta Braves (-120) on the ML against Miami Marlins risking 3.60% to win 3%.
(Foltynewicz and Urena must start for wager to have action).

The Miami Marlins struggles continue after losing last night’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves. The Marlins have now lost 5 straight and 10 of their last 11 games which has knocked them firmly out of playoff contention this season. The fact that Miami played well last night, but yet again lost another close game will only add to the disappointment and will likely have a negative overall effect on morale heading into Game 2 tonight.

As if the Braves didn't already own a motivational edge over the struggling Marlins, but we believe they will also hold a significant edge on the mound tonight. Jose Urena is scheduled to make his 30th appearance of the season and while he has pitched well recently, he has had significant issues when facing the Braves in his career. Through 26 career innings, he has a 1-3 record to go along with an awful 6.58 ERA which indicates that the Braves could have a productive offensive night at the plate in this contest.

For the Braves, they will send Mike Foltynewicz to the mound for the 28th time on the season. Foltynewicz has pitched well this season however he has to be considered one of the unluckiest pitches as he has suffered 5 straight losses, despite pitching well in a majority of them. We believe this will be the matchup that turns things around as he has posted impressive numbers against the Fish in his career. Foltynewicz is a perfect 3-0 with a respectable 3.81 ERA over 6 career starts. This season alone he is 3-0 and has surrendered just 6 runs over 20.1 innings. We wouldn't be surprised if he duplicated those results in this contest tonight.

Miami has essentially given up on the season and the fact that the oddsmakers have failed to adjust to their lack of motivation and struggles nearly always opens up value on their opponents and we believe that is the case tonight. Atlanta comes into this contest with a bit of momentum having won two straight and we believe they use that to propel them to a victory tonight in Game 2.
