There is one pick tonight.
Take Denver Nuggets -4 spread against NY Knicks risking 3% of the bankroll.
The Nuggets square off against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden tonight and should come away with the victory. They got off to a slow start this year but have a deep and talented roster that could make the playoffs in the loaded Western conference! They have guys that can hurt you on the inside or outside and capable backups off the bench who are not short of quality. There is healthy competition for a starting lineup place among Michael Malone’s squad and that keeps everyone on their toes.
The addition of All-Star Paul Millsap has made what was already a good roster even better! The Knick, on the other hand, are in rebuilding mode once again and will be one of the worst NBA teams this year. Other than the Chicago Bulls, perhaps no other roster is devoid of talent as much as this one. They have Kristaps Porzingis whom they’ve given the keys of the franchise to after the trade of Carmelo Anthony and we believe that is a good move, given the Latvian’s incredible potential. It’ll pay off in the long run and they’ve surrounded him with a couple other talented players like Enes Kanter and Tim Hardaway Jr. but all in all, they are vastly inferior to these Nuggets and more important lack the depth off the bench to compete with Denver’s second unit. Sixth Man of the Year candidate Will Barton, Emmanuel Mudiay and rebounding-machines Kenneth Faried and Marshall Plumlee get off the bench for the visitors while New York sends out the likes of Lance Thomas, Ramon Sessions, Kyle O’Quinn and rookie Frank Ntilikina!
Denver can get over a .500 record with a ‘W’ tonight and we expect them to pull away at one point and cover this short spread in the process. The Knicks are coming off a big win in Cleveland over the Cavaliers and are in a letdown spot tonight. After beating LeBron James and company, you’d think they would have a good chance against the Nuggets but we disagree. Cleveland’s a mess right now and has dropped 4 of its last 5 games! They’ll right the ship but New York faced them at an opportune time and raised its game to cause an upset victory. Then they had to hop on a plane and fly back to The Big Apple while the Nuggets were facing Brooklyn last night and are already in town waiting for them.
Tim Hardaway Jr. broke out of his early-season slump last night and was a big part of the win but he was on the court for 40+ minutes and several other Knicks also logged heavy minutes! The Nuggets, on the other hand only had Millsap play big minutes and given their superior depth shouldn’t face as many problems tonight. The game was a blowout and they were able to rest starters down the stretch. Jamal Murray was excellent for them and regained his confidence after a slow start to the season as the team’s starting PG. Look for the Canadian to continue his aggressive play, as he went to the foul line 8 times last night while committing only one turnover. And if he disappoints, the likes of Mudiay and Will Barton are capable ball-handlers able to orchestrate the offense. Let’s not forget about Nikola Jokic, of course. He’s arguably the best passing big in the league and often plays the role of a point-forward or in his case even point-center! He’s able to punish you on the inside or on the outside from 3-point range. He and Porzingis have some similarities but Jokic is the better passer and surrounded with better teammates. We believe Denver is the better team and will want to wrap up this road trip on a winning note.
