There is one NBA pick tonight.

Take Denver Nuggets -3 spread (buy the half point) against Washington Wizards for 3% of the bankroll.

These are two good teams but while John Wall is a household name by now and everyone knows about the team from the capital, Denver isn't yet getting the credit it deserves. We believe they'll both be playoff squads come the end of the regular season with the Nuggets surprising many out in the West. This Denver roster is packed with talent in the starting lineup but what really impresses us is their depth! They have capable players coming off the bench and that makes them a competent team no matter who's on the court. The same can't be said about a team like the Thunder for example who have 3 big names in their starting unit but whose backups are of a lower quality than most other teams.

The Nuggets already had a good team last year with several young players emerging. Nikola Jokic is the biggest talent of the bunch and arguably already the best passing big man in the league! He's happy to share the ball when teams double-team him as he's shown in the early part of this season while giving him single coverage often means he flirted with Triple-Doubles last year! The addition of an All-Star like Paul Millsap is huge for this team because they now can really punish teams if they end up paying too much attention to any one player. Millsap is a durable two-way player who does a bit of everything and is tough to contain. The Wizards know all about him having faced him numerous times as a former member of the Atlanta Hawks but that won't stop him from potentially having another big game, especially since Washington is missing not one but two of its power-forwards! Markieff Morris is working his way back from an injury and has resumed practice but isn't yet ready for competitive action while the veteran Jason Smith went out injured in the season opener. That means Kelly Oubre and Otto Porter will likely take the two forward spots in the Washington starting lineup and while both bring some good things to the table, they are definitely undersized and not capable of containing Paul Millsap. Therefore the former Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks man provides a matchup problem for the Wizards and if they decide to give him extra attention, the likes of Jamal Murray, Garry Harris, Wilson Chandler and Jokic all are offensively capable enough to punish them.

Gary Harris was given a well-deserved contract extension in the off-season and is already proving he was worth it. The athletic guard was extremely proficient from beyond the arc last season and has turned into an excellent shooter! He's also a tough defender and a young player that is hungry to prove a point. Off the bench, Denver has Will Barton, one of the best scorers in the league and a 6th man of the year candidate! Washington has a good squad but they are the type of team that can get complacent. Wall and company often display an arrogant attitude and play down to the level of their competition. They did just enough to beat the 76ers and Pistons, failing to cover the spread in either game. They were somewhat fortunate to escape with victories and remain undefeated on the season. Now facing what is a better team in the Nuggets, while playing in the Denver altitude, we believe they will find it tougher. Look for the home team to pull away and cover this short spread on their way to a victory.
