There is one pick today.
Take Chicago Cubs (-114) on the ML against Los Angeles Dodgers risking 3.42% to win 3%.
(Hendricks and Darvish must start for wager to have action.)
Much like our play last night on the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the ALCS, the Chicago Cubs find themselves in a very similar situation. Down 0-2 in their series with the LA Dodgers, Joe Maddon's team now finds themselves with their backs against the wall as they attempt to claw their way back into the series in a pivotal Game 3 tonight.
For the most part, this has been a closely contested series, with the Dodgers managing to come away with narrow victories in each of the first two games. Chicago had managed to jump out in front and gain the lead in both games, however, their bats had gone cold in the latter stages of the contest which allowed LA to muster up enough offense to essentially 'steal' those games.
Although Yu Darvish has been great for Los Angeles over his last few starts, we believe Chicago should have an edge on the mound tonight with starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks has been brilliant when facing Los Angeles in the past only giving up two runs and eight hits combined in 20.2 innings over three starts versus the Dodgers last season, including two in the NLCS while striking out 17 in the process. If Chicago needs a big outing from one of their pitchers, there is no better guy to have on the mound than Hendricks.
While many may believe that Chicago is essentially working on borrowed time in this series, it's important to remember that this is a team that has a unique ability to recover quickly and turn a series around. The Cubs managed to win three straight over the Dodgers in last year's NLCS and rallied from a 3-1 deficit to Cleveland in the World Series. With their backs against the wall and their margin for error extremely thin, we expect the Cubs to come into this contest extra motivated and pick up the win.
