There is one baseball pick today.
Take Houston Astros (-120) on the ML against Cleveland Indians risking 3.6% to win 3%.
(Fiers and Clevinger must start for wager to have action)
The Houston Astros are coming off a 5-3 loss in their series opener with the Cleveland Indians, however we believe that puts them in a great position for a bounce back this afternoon. Let's not forget that the Houston Astros currently have the best record in all of baseball at the moment. Not only do they have more than twice as many wins as they do losses on the season, but they also have the largest run differential in the league as well. That shows that this team is not only beating teams, but have been doing so by large margins as well.
The fact that Houston has shown the ability to plate runs this season could certainly pay dividends in this contest, especially against Cleveland pitcher, Mike Clevinger. Clevinger is a mediocre at best and is fortunate to have a spot in this rotation. Had it not been for an injury to Indians' Ace, Corey Kluber, Clevinger likely would not be in the position that he is in. Clevinger is just 2-4 with a 5.29 ERA in 12 career games as a starter, while against the Astros in his career he has gone 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in one start. Given that the Astros bats were jept somewhat in check yesterday, we expect the players at the dish to be chomping at the bit while looking to make short work of Clevinger this afternoon. Houston has gone an impressive 23-8 in 31 outings against right handed pitchers this season and should find success in this contest as well.
Yesterday was Houston's first game back at home after a 7-game road trip which saw them go 6-1. There is often an adjustment period for teams when they come off of the road and it was really no surprise that the Astros dropped their first game back. Now that they are accustomed to being back at home, we expect a much different outcome for this matchup. This is a cheap price to lay with arguably the best team in baseball at the moment. Expect a bounce back performance from Houston in this contest as they even up the series this afternoon.
