There is one pick today.
Take Wyoming -1 spread against Coastal Carolina for 3% of the bankroll.
The College Basketball Invitational has one of the most unique formats for any post season tournament in college basketball. It starts out as a single elimination tournament until it is down to two teams, then it becomes a best of three series. Game 1 of the series takes place tonight as the Wyoming Cowboys take to the road to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
The Wyoming Cowboys had a great start to their season but really struggled during conference play which is the reason why they find themselves in the CBI. The CBI is mostly made up of lesser known schools who don't have the recognition or strength of schedule to warrant an invite to the NIT Tournament and Wyoming is a rather 'big' name for this tournament which means they will have the edge when it comes to overall talent. Wyoming features more scoring depth, featuring four players averaging at least 11 points per game and they are averaging nearly five more points per game than their opponents.
The Cowboys play an up-tempo style of offense that is based around putting points on the board in a hurry. On the year, they are averaging 77.6 points per game on 43.5% shooting from the field. During this tournament however, they have been extremely efficient with their shot selections, connecting on 49.1% of their shots from the field. Wyoming has also been playing some strong defense in this tournament, holding their opponents to only 40.4% shooting from the field. Coastal Carolina is not a team that has been known for their offense and we are confident that Wyoming can slow down the Chanticleers offense in this contest.
The first game of a three-game series is always interesting, but it is also (arguably) the most important. A victory tonight could really put the Cowboys in a great position to take this tournament as it would force the Chanticleers to win two games on the road to take home the title. While this is likely to be close, the Cowboys scoring depth will be the difference in this contest as they go on to take Game 1 on the road.
