There is one pick today.
Take Arizona Diamondbacks (+108) on the ML against Philadelphia Phillies risking 3% to win 3.24%.
(Corbin and Nola must start for wager to have action)
The Arizona Diamondbacks come into this contest red-hot, having won 7 of their last 8 games. Their offense has been firing on all cylinders as they have scored an average of nearly 8 runs per game over their recent hot-streak. They currently rank 5th in the Majors in overall offensive production and should have the clear edge at the plate in this contest.
The Philadelphia Phillies were not expected to be a great team this season, however many believed that the would have a better season than they have shown thus far. This is a team that has really struggled in all phases of the game and has had a tough time building any kind of momentum. They are a young and talented team and many of the younger players that were expected to take a step forward this season have failed to live up to expectations.
Aaron Nola is one of those players who have yet to come into his own. On the season, he has been downright terrible at home, sporting a 6.00 ERA in 2 starts in this venue. The Phillies bullpen hasn't really done their team any favors either as they have a collective 4.64 ERA and has given up 114 runs in 221 innings of work. Their pen has also shown a propensity for giving up the long-ball which is something that the Arizona bats have feasted on this season. Philadelphia's pen has allowed 35 balls to go yard this season and against one of the hardest hitting team in the Majors; that could be a recipe for disaster.
The Phillies are coming off what could be considered an impressive win as the managed to edge the Boston Red Sox with Chris Sale on the mound, last night 1-0. It was no doubt a confidence boosting win for this team, however, we don't believe too much should be read into that victory. They were fortunate to come away with the win in that contest and we believe that they will be send back to reality tonight against the D-Backs. Arizona has the edge in nearly all phases of this contest and we are somewhat surprised that the oddsmakers have listed them as the underdogs. They have been playing much more solid fundamental baseball than the Phillies and to get them at plus-money shows a tremendous amount of value.
