There is one pick today.

Take Pittsburgh Pirates (+106) on the ML against San Francisco Giants risking 3% to win 3.18%.
(Taillon and Bumgarner must start for wager to have action)

Tonight’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants will feature arguably the most interesting pitching matchup on the card as James Taillon takes on Madison Bumgarner.

There is no question that Madison Bumgarner is the 'Ace' of this San Francisco rotation, however it has been mostly a wasted season for the veteran. After spending nearly 3 months on the disabled list due to injury, the lefty still hasn't looked like his former self since returning to the mound. In his last two starts, he has given up 7 earned runs on 10 hits and 4 homeruns over his last 13.3 innings of work. What's most alarming about those statistics is the fact that those starts have come against the likes of the San Diego Padres who rank near the bottom of the league in terms of every major offensive category. If the Padres were able to have that kind of success against Bumgarner, that tells us that something still isn't right with his delivery and if he continues to hang balls in the zone, especially against this Pirates' offense who are seeing the ball well, it could be another disastrous start for the southpaw.

Meanwhile the Pirates will send James Taillon to the mound. Taillon has pitched well this season and comes into this contest 6-3 with a respectable 3.08 ERA over 13 starts this season. On the road, he has pitched extremely well going 3-1 with a 2.31 ERA in 6 starts. Taillon has only seen this San Francisco Giants' lineup once in his career, a season ago, where he went 6 innings giving up 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 5. With another year under his belt, we wouldn't be surprised if Taillon had a better showing in this contest tonight.

As a team, the Pirates have been playing much better on the road as well as they come into this matchup having won 4 of their last 5 on the highway. They are also 7-3 in their last 10 games and recently received a boost to their lineup with Starling Marte returning from suspension. The return of Marte has definitely rejuvenated this team as they appear to be much more in sync on the ball field. Pittsburgh finds themselves just 3 games back of the NL Central leaders and could be poised to make a run come the end of the season. The Pirates are also a perfect 7-0 at AT&T Park over the last 3 seasons so they are extremely comfortable playing in this venue. This will likely be a close matchup; however, Pittsburgh finds a way to get it done in the end.
