There is one pick today.
Take Arizona Diamondbacks (+101) on the ML against Washington Nationals risking 3% to win 3.03%.
(Ray and Strasburg must start for wager to have action)
This has been a closely contested series throughout, with each team managing to come away with a 1-run victory in games 1 and 2 respectively. Tonight, they will play the series finale in what should once again be another highly competitive contest. That being said, it's not often that Nationals pitcher, Stephen Strasburg is listed as a near pick'em and we believe the devaluing of him in this particular matchup by the oddsmakers gives a clear indication of how they believe this contest will go.
Strasburg is undoubtedly an elite pitcher in the league, and is having himself quite an impressive season, however, he is no unbeatable. In fact, over his last 7 starts, Strasburg's ERA has ballooned up to 4.35 during that span. While his numbers have been masked somewhat by the ability of his offense to give him the much-needed run support, we believe the Nationals bats could have a hard time generating offense in this contest, which will only exemplify Strasburg's mistakes on the mound.
Robbie Ray is having himself a tremendous season and sports a stifling 2.97 ERA over 112 innings logged this season. Over his last 10 starts, he has been even more impressive, going 7-1 with a 1.89 ERA during that span. He is winless in his career against this Washington team, in three career starts, but given the season that he is having, we believe tonight is the night where he will finally pick up his first win against this team.
The Diamondbacks have an incredible 34-16 record when playing at home this season and when listed as either a short favorite or small underdog, as they are tonight, they are 13-4 on the year. This will likely be a close game, but we expect the Diamondbacks' bats to be able to generate just enough offense to come away with series ending victory.
