There is one pick today.
Take Texas Rangers (+103) on the ML against Baltimore Orioles risking 3% to win 3.09%.
(Cashner and Tillman must start for wager to have action)
The Texas Rangers travel to Camden Yards tonight and we believe they will hold a distinct advantage as they open up a 3-game set with the Baltimore Orioles.
It's no secret that the Baltimore Orioles pitching has been terrible this season and tonight they send one of their more struggling pitchers to the mound in Chris Tillman. Tillman will be making his return to the mound tonight after a brief layoff but it's likely that his time off will have helped him very much. Prior to his layoff, Tillman had struggled mightily, posting an almost embarrassing 7.90 ERA and 2.14 WHIP in 49 innings of work. Over his last 7 starts, Tillman has surrendered 11 homers, which is not favorable heading into a matchup with the hard-hitting Texas lineup. He has also not had much success against Texas in his career as he owns a 5.40 ERA over 7 career starts. Elvis Andrus is 5 for 14 while Adrian Beltre is 7 for 15 respectively. As a team, the Rangers are hitting a collective .330 against him.
Andrew Cashner has been wildly inconsistent this season, however, he looks like an All-Star compared to his counterpart. While his results have varied, he did produce a rather impressive outing in his last start where he held the Boston Red Sox to just 2 runs (0 earned) over 7 innings. While he has been far from perfect, we expect him to use the momentum he gained in his last start to carry over into tonight's contest.
It's hard to trust the Orioles at the moment as they have dropped 8 of their last 11 games, including recently being swept at home by the Chicago Cubs. For the longest time, Camden Yards has been a tough place for opposing teams to play, however the Rangers have appeared extremely comfortable in this environment as they have managed to win 8 of their last 11 trips to this park. The Orioles will undoubtedly be motivated to get back on the winning track, however, we don't believe this is the matchup that gets them there. Given the state of the Orioles rotation, we don’t believe they will be able to keep this potent Texas offense in check for the full 9 innings. While this game may be close at the onset, the Rangers bats eventually find enough offense to come away with the victory.
