There is one pick tonight.
#1: Take William & Mary -6 spread (buy the half point) against Hofstra for 3% of the bankroll.
This is a matchup of relatively smaller programs that will likely be overlooked on a slightly stacked card, however it is a matchup that we believe exhibits a good amount of value. This particular situation is a mismatch and one that we believe William & Mary will be able to exploit.
Both of these teams are currently heading in opposite directions. The Hofstra Pride come into this contest having lost 3 of their last 4 games and are coming off a slightly deflating loss in their last contest. The Pride rallied back from 11 points down against UNC Wilmington, however they couldn't manage to complete the comeback and wound up suffering am 83-76 loss. Hofstra has had a tough go on the defensive side of the basketball all season long. They are blocking just an average of 2.79 shots per game, which is second fewest in the conference. They also haven't been proficient in forcing turnovers either as they are averaging just 4.45 steals per game, which ranks worst in the conference.
While they haven't exactly had the greatest season this year, William & Mary has been one of the most prolific offenses in their respective conference. They currently lead the conference in field goal percentage, hitting 49% of their shots and also top the conference in 3-point percentage, hitting 38.8% against the Delaware Blue Hens, in which they shot 52% from the field and 46% from deep. They are also a team that likes to spread the ball around, averaging 22 assists per game at home this season which has been key to keeping their opponents guessing on the floor.
The Tribe have been on a roll recently and have an extremely strong homecourt advantage. They are a perfect 12-0 on the season and have a 22-point average margin of victory in those contests. William & Mary managed to squeak out a 3 point victory on the road against Hofstra earlier in the season on a buzzer-beater in overtime; we don't expect this contest to be close. The oddsmakers have set this total on the high side which means that expect points to be scored in this contest. With that being the case, we don't believe the Tribe should have any problems putting up points on the Pride's susceptible defense as they go on to win this one by double-digits.
