There is one NBA pick tonight.

Take New Orleans Pelicans +8 spread against Memphis Grizzlies for 3% of the bankroll.

The Grizzlies are the better team and might win this game but we don't believe it'll come easily or by a large margin. This is likely a matchup that'll go right down the wire and could be decided in the final couple of possessions. If that's the case, the points will prove very precious and should come into play even if the Pelicans fall just short.

New Orleans has been playing better recently and should get a boost from Tyreke Evans tonight. Evans was rusty and more of a liability over the last couple of contests as he was working his way back from an injury but now with a couple of games under his belt, we believe his ability to drive to the basket will create scoring opportunities for him and teammates. Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday have already been playing well recently and it is the supporting cast that needs to step up. We believe Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway, Solomon Hill and Evans are capable of helping out tonight. Talented Lithuanian, Montiejunas is another that could play an important role off the bench tonight. The former Rocket is starting to click with his new teammates and is a big that can stretch the floor.

Given the way Memphis has dominated the Pels in recent years, don't expect Alvin Gentry to have any trouble motivating his squad. Anthony Davis is an elite player whose athleticism should cause problems for the Grizzlies. He and his teammates have been dominated by the Grizzlies in recent meetings and will have revenge in mind. No team wants to be a doormat to another, let alone a division and Western conference rival. If the Pelicans are going to keep their playoff hopes alive, they're gonna have to put up a fight and we believe they'll do so tonight.

The fact that they're coming off a close win bodes well for their confidence as this is a team that let many tight games get away from them, earlier in the season. They're finally learning how to close games out and while they'll have a tough challenge on their hands tonight, we believe they should do enough to stay within this generous spread. Memphis plays a grind-it-out defensive style of basketball that sees them win their fair share of games but not necessarily blow teams out. They don't care about winning this game by double-digits anywhere as much as simply 'winning' it. We believe it's dangerous to lay 8 points with a defensive-oriented team that is methodical in its approach. For that reason, the value is with the plucky underdogs who are being spotted a couple of points too many.
