There is one pick today.

Take Virginia Tech +7 spread against Virginia for 3% of the bankroll.

This is an extremely difficult scheduling spot for the Virginia Cavaliers and we believe they should be on upset alert as they head to Blacksburg to take on their in-state rivals, the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The Virginia Cavaliers are coming off a hard-fought victory over the (then) #4 ranked Louisville Cardinals and have a big-time matchup on deck with the #18 ranked Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday. In between those two monster games sit this in-state rivalry, which creates a potential look ahead spot for the Cavaliers. This is also a rematch between these two teams as they most recently met 11 days ago, in which the Cavaliers posted a dominant 71-48 victory. The fact that Virginia just dominated their opponents a short time ago will likely have them looking past the Hokies in this contest. They will likely have a tough time getting motivated for this matchup and that makes covering a sizable spread on the road that much more difficult.

Besides the terrible scheduling spot that the Cavaliers are facing, this is also a big-time revenge game for the Hokies. Not only were they defeated by their in-state rivals, but they were downright embarrassed. Now that the situation is reversed and they are playing on their home court, you can bet that they will be extremely motivated to not only make this contest much more competitive, but would like nothing more than to pick up what would be an extremely satisfying victory. The fact that Virginia Tech is 12-1 at home on the season makes that a real possibility.

Let's not forget, the Virginia Cavaliers have not been the same team this season as in year's past. Yes, they just defeated the #4 ranked Louisville Cardinals, however it's important to note that Louisville was extremely short-handed for that contest, missing their top 3 scorers for that contest. Prior to that victory, the Cavaliers had dropped their previous two road games against both Villanova and Syracuse. Even if the Hokies fail to pull off the outright victory, we expect that they will make this matchup much more competitive than the first meeting. This is a terrible scheduling and motivational spot for the Cavaliers and playing on the road will be too much for them to cover this rather large number. The points have a lot of value tonight and should come into play.
