There is one pick today.
Take Arizona -3 spread against Purdue for 3% of the bankroll.
The Arizona Wildcats have one of the most exciting players in the nation in sophomore quarterback Khalil Tate. Tate finished the regular season with 1,353 rushing yards at a nation-leading 10.17 yards per carry. What's most impressive about his statistics however is the fact that Tate didn't even take over full time at the quarterback position until the fifth game against Colorado, when starter Brandon Dawkins was injured on a late hit on the opening drive of the game. In that matchup, Tate proceeded to rush for 327 rushing yards in the 45-42 victory which was an FBS rushing record by a quarterback. Tate would total 1,207 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns over a six-game span and is the current front runner to win the Heisman Trophy next season.
The Purdue Boilermakers opened their season against the 2016 Heisman winner and will close out their season against on of the 2018 favorites. Hopefully they will have better success against Tate as Lamar Jackson ran for 107 yards and threw for another 378 in the season opener. The Boilermakers have been tough on the defensive side of the ball this season and will be one of the best front-seven's that Arizona has seen, but this could be the best quarterback that the Purdue defenses has seen as well.
The oddsmakers are expecting a fairly high scoring game in this matchup, posting the total in the mid-60 range. That bodes well for the style of play that Arizona prefers to run. If this game turns in to a shootout, it is going to favor the potent Arizona offense as we don't believe Purdue will have enough bullets in the chamber to keep up on the scoreboard. The quick strike offense of Arizona will have the advantage in this matchup and we believe Tate will eventually wear out the defense late in the second half. With the spread where it is, we believe the value is on the Wildcats in this matchup.
