There is one pick today.

Take Washington Nationals (-110) on the ML against San Diego Padres risking 3.30% to win 3%.
(Gonzalez and Lamet must start for wager to have action)

The injury bug has bitten the Washington Nationals hard recently and they are a team that is continuing to press forward despite having a make-shift lineup. Their offense has certainly cooled down recently due to all the injuries; however, they have shown that they can still win games behind stellar pitching.

Gio Gonzalez will take the mound this afternoon and he is continuing to have quite a bounce back season. He comes into this contest 11-5 with a 2.49 ERA in 24 starts on the year. He has been extremely sharp in his last couple of outings, going 3-0 with a 0.43 ERA during that span. He has also been extremely consistent on the road this season going 8-3 with a 3.15 ERA in 12 starts on the highway. He will have a definitive edge on the mound against one of the worst offenses in the league this season.

The Padres will counter with rookie, Dinelson Lamet. Lamet has pitched well in his first year in the league, however, he could be in for a long afternoon in this one. He has a 4.78 ERA on the season and that number has only risen when he has pitched during the day. In 5 day starts this season, Lamet's ERA inflates to an unimpressive 5.56. Going against one of the top three best offense in the league, Lamet will need to pitch his best game of the season if he has any hopes of walking away with the win.

The Nationals may be injured, but they are still one of the best teams in the National League at the moment. They have pitcher who is throwing the best we have seen all season long and has a 1.83 ERA in 9 day starts this season. The Nationals shouldn't need a whole lot of offense in this contest as the ride the arm of Gonzalez to close out the series.
