There is one pick today.
Take New York Yankees (+103) on the ML against Cleveland Indians risking 3% to win 3.09%.
(Severino and Carrasco must start for wager to have action)
The Yankees managed to claw their way back into the series as they came away with a 2-1 victory in Game 3 last night. This afternoon they will have an opportunity to even things up as they conclude their four-game set with the Indians.
The Yankees will send arguably their best pitcher to the mound this afternoon as Luis Severino squares off against Carlos Carrasco. Severino comes into this contest 8-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 21 starts on the season. Over his last couple of outings however, he has been incredibly dominant, going 3-0 with a 0.69 ERA over his last 4 starts. He has also been solid on the road this season, going 3-1 with a respectable 2.71 ERA in 11 starts on the highway. This will be his third career start against the Tribe and thus far, he has been solid, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.25 ERA.
For Cleveland, the will send out Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco comes into this contest 10-4 with a 3.89 ERA in 21 starts on the year. While his season numbers have been solid, he has certainly struggled recently, going 0-0 with a 5.79 ERA in his last three starts. He also hasn't been particularly strong at home this season, winning just 3 of his 9 starts and posting a 4.47 ERA in this ballpark. He has had mixed results against the Yankees in his career, going 4-4 with a 3.67 ERA in 10 career starts.
These two teams have been evenly matched all season long, however, these two pitchers are currently heading in opposite directions with Severino showing just how much potential he has to become a superstar, and likely comes into this contest full of confidence. Meanwhile, Carrasco has been in a downward slump and has been a very hittable pitcher as of late. The Yankees offense has been cold, but this could be an opportunity for their bats to finally wake up against a pitcher who may be a bit tentative on the mound this afternoon.
The Yankees need to finish this series strong as their losing streak has caused them to fall further back of the division leading Boston Red Sox, who have been in somewhat of an "easy" series with the lowly Chicago White Sox. New York built some momentum with last night's win and we expect it to carry over into this afternoon's series finale. If they can provide their "Ace" with even a little bit of run support, Severino should be able to continue to pitch at a high level and contain this Indian's offense.
