There is one pick today.
Take New York Yankees (+109) on the ML against Cleveland Indians risking 3% to win 3.27%.
(Garcia and Bauer must start for wager to have action)
The New York Yankees will look to end their recent 3 game skid tonight as they battle the Cleveland Indians in Game 2 of their 4-game series. The Tribe managed to spoil the debut of the Yankees prized acquisition, Sonny Gray, last night and will look to once again spoil the coming out party of veteran Jaime Garcia, however, tonight we expect a much different result.
Garcia will be making his debut for New York tonight in what will be his third straight start for a new team. Garcia was traded from the Braves, to the Twins and now will don a Yankees uniform. Despite the recent shuffle in teams, Garcia has pitched rather well and now has a chance to go from a non-contender, to a team that is still in the thick of the playoff race. He is a veteran, but will make his first appearance against the Indians in his career and given his experience on the mound, this may work to his advantage tonight.
Trevor Bauer will pitch opposite Garcia and it has been an up-and-down season for him this year. Bauer comes into this contest with a 9-8 record, but a less than impressive 5.25 ERA and 1.458 WHIP. He has not had much success against this Yankees' lineup in years past either as he is 1-4 with a 5.91 ERA and 1.594 WHIP in 6 career starts. Given that the Yankees offense have been silenced as of late, will only add to the motivation of the lineup and that could spell disaster for Bauer on the mound tonight.
The Yankees clearly need to break out of their slump and start to string together wins if they hope to keep pace with the Boston Red Sox in the AL East. They faced a tough task last night going up against Corey Kluber and will face another one tomorrow when they face Danny Salazar. Their matchup with Bauer may be their best opportunity to even up the series and potentially avoid extending their losing streak. The Yankees offense has been known to get hot at a moment's notice and we wouldn't be surprised if tonight is when their bats finally wake up. Bauer simply cannot be trusted on the mound against this offense and we believe that will be the difference tonight as the Yankees come away with the series tying victory.
