There is one pick today.
Take Washington Wizards +3 spread (buy the half point) against Atlanta Hawks for 3% of the bankroll.
As expected, after going down 0-2 in the series, the Atlanta Hawks finally put together a solid 48 minutes’ contest which saw them score 116 points and come away with the victory in Game 3. The Hawks came out of the gate red-hot, scoring 38 points in the first quarter and were extremely efficient shooting from the field, shooting 49.4% while also going 9 of 25 from 3-point range. Atlanta also managed to clean up the turnovers that plagued them in the first two contests, which helped lead to the victory.
Also, as expected, the Wizards came into a game three likely just a little bit complacent and it showed by their play on the court. Washington only shot 41.6% from the field and went just 7 of 29 from beyond the arc. John Wall was once again outstanding, but the other role players struggled with their shot. Bradley Beal was not nearly as effective as game one and two, recording just 12 points on 6 for 20 shooting after scoring 31 points in game two. Beal has been a tremendous playoff performer in his career thus far, averaging 21.7 points in 24 career playoff games. We believe that Game 3 was nothing more than a one-off and we expect a bounce back performance from Beal tonight.
Washington had an off-night in Game 3, but we expect them to come into Game 4 incredibly focused. John Wall has been nearly unstoppable for the Wizards as the Hawks simply have not had an answer in how to slow down the former Wildcat. Atlanta is also a team that has not been known for their breakout offense and we find it hard to believe that they will be able to replicate their 49% from the field shooting performance once again. The Wizards have proven that they are the better overall team and we expect this to be a closer contest tonight. Getting a full possession with a team as offensively explosive as the Wizards is simply too good to pass up. In all reality, we wouldn't be surprised if the Wizard won this game outright to take a commanding lead in this series before heading back to DC. This one should come down to the wire in which case the points hold a tremendous amount of value.
